Overture was an art rock/ progressive rock band in the 70ties. Band members and instruments: Hans Alsing drums and carillon; Mats Ström voice and acoustic guitar; Clarence Öfwerman Yamaha electric piano, grand piano, Prophet Five, Logan String, acoustic guitar and voice; Mats Reiniusson Rickenbacker bass guitar, Moog Taurus bass pedals, Guild 12-string electric guitar, voice; David Carlson Gibson Les Paul electric guitar, acoustic guitar and voice (1976-78); Bengt Lundberg Ibanez Les Paul electric guitar and voice 78-80.

The music was composed/arranged by members in the band based on original compositional ideas by band members. Some examples of song titles The Source of the Music, Alexander the Great, Checkmate, The Last Meeting, Family Games, Flock of Wolves, The Fugue, Mastermind, Rest in Piece.
Overture released one single in 1978/79 “Salt Peanuts” and one album in 1980 "Ansikten" (Faces), the album was mainly a pop/rock album with some art rock ingredients. The recordings that are just being released (2016) are a remix of recordings from 1978, that the group recorded live in one day.
