Greatest Hits
This is a great collection of songs from an English musical group The Style Council. It was released in 2000. This disc is almost identical to 'The Singular Adventures Of...' except that this CD has all the singles of TSC in chronological order (the other one mixes them up), which is helpful if you want to follow their development over the course of their career. Any fan should get One of these 'singles' collections, because many of the songs don't appear on their four original albums, and when they do, they're often radically different. For instance, on the original 'Cafe Bleu' album, the song 'My Ever Changing Moods' is quiet and introspective, with only a piano and vocals. The 'single' version of the song has a whole group with brass, drums and groovey bongos! Paul Weller was definitely fond of 'ever changing' arrangements (to suit his 'moods' I reckon). So, for a no-frills, all-singles tour through the magic that was The Style Council, this is a nice, compact and thorough set.
