M.A.K., aka Marc McGhee, was born in Oak Park, and raised in the Valley Hi area of Sacramento, CA. Growing up, he was surrounded by music, with his father being the lead singer in a band, and one of his uncles being a multi-instrumentalist, playing any instrument you could think of. The step-father of Nate Curry, aka N8 the Gr8 (cousin of M.A.K.), was a studio genius and introduced the youngsters to that side of the music business as well. Needless to say, the musical seed was planted early in the life of M.A.K.. “My moms side of the family were hustlers, and the hustlers mentality mixed with the love of music made me what I am today.”
