Take Me Home (Orchestral Versions)

"Take Me Home" is a song recorded by American singer/actress Cher in 1979, written by Bob Esty and Michele Aller. It was also released as a single by Sophie Ellis-Bextor, from her debut studio album Read My Lips (2001). It was her first solo single after her collaboration with Italian DJ Spiller for the number one hit "Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)". Bextor also wrote some new lyrics for "Take Me Home", and her version was an instant hit, going straight to number two in the UK Singles Chart. In Australia, the song was released twice. Firstly as the debut single, and again after the success of her later singles "Murder on the Dancefloor" and "Get Over You". The single was also a massive hit in Spain, where it peaked at number on the Spanish AFYVE Singles Chart for six consecutive weeks. Ellis-Bextor won an award for the Best Dance Act at the Norwegian Music Awards in 2002.
