Peruvian-born, Brooklyn-based Kike Mayor offers his first release for Monophonic Records, Encounters. This low-slung, deep-house roller surrounds serene sounds with dense atmospherics, bright percussion, and swooping synth stabs; an intriguing sonic palette for the late night set. The EP also features a deliriously groovy rework by label head DJ Ruslan, flipping the synth line into a swooning loop that settles atop the deep 808 kicks, and an immersive, thumping tech remix from dynamic duo Bonny & Clyde that teases the rhythm out to dub chamber depths before dropping the hammer.
