Spanish musician, DJ/producer Freyta (Suma Records) studied piano, trumpet, music theory and harmony before taking this skills into the studio. His Night Preacher EP on deep house label UM Records delivers two original tracks. The title track with its dark, pulsating rhythm, haunting vocal and crazed keys and Make Me Feel It and its bouncy baseline, and summer cool trumpet.
Remixes come from UM regular Dilby (Bondage, Beef Records) who's career is gathering real momentum in his new found home of Berlin takes the title track on a spacey, atmospheric journey, perfect for those moody sets. Completing the line up is a new name to the UM family. Sumsuch (Colour & Pitch, Apollo) is a name we've admired for a while, hailing from Brighton his deep-thinking electronic music comes to life on this EP with a remix that captures an early morning hypnotic beauty that I've not felt since Orbital's Belfast and the emotion of standing in the warm summer rain - uplifting and mesmerising!
