Alive Again
"Alive Again" is the fourth solo effort by Colorado singer/songwriter David Starr. And while his first three CD's showcased his skills as a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, the most recent project features seasoned Nashville studio musicians on all instruments with Starr taking literally the role of "singer and songwriter".
The idea was to let players interpret the newer songs on the album while giving them free reign to re-imagine some of the older, previously-cut tracks on the disc.
The result is a collection of original material that feels fresh, yet harkens back to a sound reminiscent of the country rock of 1970's Southern California that serves as a major influence in Starr's singing and composing.
All songs are written by Starr with the exception of "Way Past Ready" with was co-written by Little Rock singer Amy Garland Angel.
