Mannequin Obsession
Chuck Hughes started recording Hillbilly Hellcats songs in 1994 in his basement on a Tascam 80-8 tape deck. Although he started in a fairly strict retro Rockabilly style, through the years he has added outside influences.
On tour through Hollywood, Ca. in 2008 he was walking down Hollywood Blvd. and noticed a store window display unlike anything he had ever seen in his home state of Colorado. So he snapped a few pictures and put them on Myspace, where bands typically put their tour pictures in those days. Upon seeing the pictures, one friend commented that he had a mannequin obsession. That phrase triggered a hook line phrase in Chuck's mind, which he now, with the aid of Apple Logic Pro x, turned into a song.
