Jimmy Bowen is the leader of Santa Fe and is considered one of the finest high lead voices and tenor singers in the field of Bluegrass Music today. A native of Charlotte, NC, Jimmy is a multi-instrumentalist who has been performing since the age of ten.
In 1988, Jimmy attained a life-long dream when he was invited to join the legendary Country Gentlemen. Jimmy traveled the United States, Canada, and Europe with the Gent's for six and half years. The Country Gentlemen took him to diverse venues as the Grand Ole Opry, Nashville Now TV Show, and the White House in Washington, DC.
In 1995, after leaving the Country Gentlemen, Jimmy started his own accounting/investment firm and also had the pleasure of being a member of Continental Divide. Jimmy stayed three years with this talented group. Traveling through the US, Canada, and venues as TNN News, Prime Time Country, he was also a recepient of the 1995 IBMA Emerging Artist of the Year award.
