I love the 90's. Don't you?
SURF is an album dedicated to remembering 90's dance music, in particular, the music of the early 90's; house, new jack swing, hip-house, piano-house, italodisco and many other sub genres that ruled the airwaves. Before the rockslide that was grunge music, dance was the norm on radio airwaves with acts like Inner city, Technotronic and Cathy Denis making it to the top of the charts.
This kind of dance music was the first music I'd really take in my hand and play in a stereo. I was only 4 years old in 1991 but some of my earliest memories include putting cassette after cassette of many dance compilations that my older sister owned. The music was akin to video game music and caught my attention very easily.
More importantly, because it was still popular, everyone loved it. It brought people together. Just what good music should do. These newer sounds in dance music still rocked clubs and dance culture thoughout the 90's as shows like The Grind and Electric Circus still aired on F
