Riding the Dharma Express
“RIDING THE DHARMA EXPRESS” is the new Jazz / Electronica Digital-Download release from Jack Wyles.
Having studied bass and jazz theory with the late Jaco Pastorius, and saxophone with Post-Bop saxophonist Mel Martin, Jack has combined the freedom of improvisation with the grooves and sounds of electronica. It is a completely solo effort, except for:
THERE IS A FOUNTAIN:
Patrick Owens - Guitar
Simon “Soul” Maah - Bass
and:
BLACK SATIN:
Ronnell Sanders - Turntablist
There are 13 songs from numerous electronic styles. All songs (except for Black Satin, by Miles Davis) are written by Jack. He supplies all the saxophone, bass, and keyboards, as well as production and engineering. He also arranged all samples (royalty free) and sound effects.
“The electronica grooves supply the modern/futuristic edge for these songs that I was looking for”, says Jack. “I think of each one as a separate movie soundtrack. I wanted to create the feeling of trying to keep our underlying spirituality intact in this increasingly technological world. It’s a fun and adventurous album. Enjoy!”
