My name’s Michael Hunter, I’m a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer/arranger living in Brooklyn. I started learning piano and violin classically when I was young. I was good at it, played in symphonies and won competitions and such, and I considered going to a conservatory after high school but decided I wasn’t really passionate enough about classical music to pursue it professionally.

In college I discovered my musical passion through rock ‘n roll (I know, took me awhile…), started teaching myself guitar, bass and drums and began writing songs. Once I left college I began playing in bands in a more serious capacity, branching out from rock ‘n roll to metal, hip hop, punk, swing, prog, pretty much anything I could get my hands on.

I moved to NYC in Nov 2011 to take my career to the next level and since then I’ve been making my living as a freelance musician. I’ve composed/performed string arrangements in studios, sat in on drums in metal/punk/industrial bands, played piano in musica
