Switch It On
Shannon Hurley's fourth solo album "Switch It On" runs on power-pop hooks and silky melodies. "Switch It On" recalls Aimee Mann or Fountains of Wayne; the determined "I'll Turn It On" was a piece commissioned by the Getty Museum in Los Angeles for the Zuccaro exhibit (a pair of brothers who were struggling artists during the Renaissance); the upbeat electronic pop "Heartbeat On The Radio" both mourns the loss of old radio, and celebrates the longevity of music.
