Although the 11 tracks have a common thread in sound, the approach of each song varies widely, contrasting the familiar jazz trio sound with Hammond organ, analog synthesizers, percussion, and electric bass. These guys owe as much to DJ Shadow as to Herbie Hancock. The music is built on tight interplay and adventurous recording techniques, somewhere in the territory of Daniel Lanois or Mitchell Froom.
