Banboch Anba Tonel
Moumous is an artist musician, and also a music teacher in the public school system of the City of New York who has performed throughout North America and abroad entertaining and educating an audience about Haiti and its music. Barbara is a powerful alto who does not hide her love for Haiti. She has dedicated her artistic life to the struggle of our people, one that is becoming more challenging every day. Chico is a sound engineer and a superb bass player who innovated the way they used to play bass guitar in Mizik Rasin. He has also traveled the globe performing in various venues to promote the Haitian culture, especially Haitian music.
The album Banboch Anba Tonel is an album created in honor of a type of music that tends to disappear, Koudyay. It resembles a lot the roots of nowadays Puerto Rican and Cuban music because of the clave which plays the same cinquillo pattern.
