FivE is an exciting new quartet that is pushing the boundaries of low brass chamber music. One of the first of its kind, this group of four euphoniums routinely shatters expectations of what is possible on the instrument. Formed in 2013, FivE has attracted national attention for its unique sound, its entertaining YouTube videos, and its success in the world of chamber music. The group won first prize at the 2014 Pennsylvania MTNA Chamber Music Competition and was earlier selected as one of twelve ensembles from around the world to compete in the 2013 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition. The Fischoff competition is the largest of its kind in the world, and FivE is the only euphonium quartet ever to advance to the quarterfinals.
 
Due to the recent creation of the euphonium quartet as a serious chamber ensemble, the group exclusively performs original compositions, arrangements, and adaptions tailored specifically for them. Fast-paced and energetic, a concert with FivE features
diverse new repertoire, low brass standards, modern pop, classical masterpieces, singing, comedy, and unconventional staging. No music is too serious, no song is out of the question, and no idea is too crazy for FivE, who always aims to inspire audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

FivE has gained exposure with performances at the U.S. Army Tuba Euphonium Workshop, the Northeast Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference, The McCann School of Art, Music at Penn’s Woods Summer Festival, and concerts in Florida, Indiana, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. The quartet also dedicates time to the education of tomorrow’s musicians by performing at public schools and music camps. FivE has performed at schools along the east coast and has served most recently as the featured ensemble at Music on the River Concert Band Camp, a six-day music camp held in central Virginia.

FivE has released singles on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, YouTube, and other popular media platforms, and the group plans to release its first album in 2015. FivE is a performing artist with Buffet Group USA, and the members play exclusively on Besson instruments.
