Infectious (Soundtrack)
The soundtrack to Infectious was a treat to work on. The story is about a lonely nurse who develops an unexpected passion for her unconscious patient in a 1930s tuberculosis sanatorium. Danishka Esterhazy, the writer / director, wanted the music to communicate desire. So I picked very slow tempos for these pieces. I wanted each moment to linger and last, to take it's time unfolding.
Since the story took place in the 1930's, there was also two "period" pieces required. One for the intro and one for the end credits of the film. These were both created with synthesized instruments. The rest of the music, however, was recorded with real piano, harp, cello and violin.
