Honky-tonk (noun): 1. a usually tawdry nightclub or dance hall; especially : one that features country music. 2: a district marked by places of cheap entertainment. 3: country music that has a heavy beat and lyrics dealing usually with vice or misfortune.
That’s the Merriam-Webster dictionary definition of Honky-tonk. And by all means, it defines Jesse Jones’s third album “Honky Tonk Highway.” Again, producer Bryan Carter captures the essence of Country traditionalism that is Jones’s trademark sound. The 10 tracks that you will find contained on “Honky Tonk Highway” is a true buffet of hardcore honky-tonkers that represents the vice and misfortune of the common man.
The songwriters who contributed to this classic Jesse Jones record is most impressive.
