BIOGRAPHY
Aspiring rap artist is managing to take over the hip hop thrown from Rockland County to the world. The movement began from an inspiration through the Rap Group Kriss Kross. Putting words to the paper for his first rhyme on a Kriss Kross beat was what initiated the hip hop ball to get rolling. “I couldn’t think a ni**a can do it, so Kriss Kross really inspired me because they were my age so I said to myself I can do it too”. A powerful quote that symbolizes Money’s motivation to overcome challenges faced in a day’s work.
Born in port Au prince Haiti, At the early age of 5 years old he witness his best friend get murder right before his eyes by Haitian military soldier After these tragic events his mother decided it was time to leave Haiti. At the age of 7, Money and his family settled in Spring Valley, New York in hopes of a promising future. Growing up the hard knock life, at 15 years of age he was sent back to his homeland to clean up his act. “My mom didn’t like my friends, the drug selling and gangster ways so she sent me back to better myself, I look at it like it was a good thing because it made me realize where I came from”. A clean slate was set forth to commence a brand new lifestyle.
Money was given an opportunity to return back to the states so he can live the American dream. His dream was to become a successful hip hop artists/entrepreneur storming the game with lyrical rays and thunder bolt punch lines that would leave listeners shocked.
Settling down the rap game was never an option for Money, as he took his steps to record his Demo CD at Platinum cuts studios. After several successful sessions, Money was approached by the President of Cartel Records with a contract to join his record label. “Signed to The Cartel Inc, Cartel got me back to rapping, when I went back to Haiti, I was rapping but it wasn’t serious. I was just going to school when I got back, I said I ain’t doing sh*t so I recorded a song and they felt my demo.” His collaboration with the Cartel featured him on the: “The Carter)( name of the cd). Much of G-Money’s knowledge of the music industry derives from his experiences in the Cartel, great fully appreciating the opportunity given.
As a new hot prospect and already creating a buzz in the streets of Rockland County, Money detaches himself from the Cartel movement to build his own entity. Expanding his business wingspan, G-Money decides to call his new company Money Management as he brought in emerging rappers to cosign with his enterprise. “I read an article about Puffy and he was talking about one of his restaurants that were about to grow: Justin. It was then when I told myself; I should just not be a rapper, what I am good at? I am good at managing niggas, I’ve been managing rappers while I rap, helping other artists on the come up.”
Money explains the movement is not all about getting money but educating its artists on how to become successful. “I want to get the artists as much freedom but at the same time I want to give them guidance, that’s why I started a management company not a record label. The future holds a promising slate for Money and the crew, expansion to a full functioning record label with its own graphics, video, marketing and retail departments are in the works right now.
Building a brand and realizing a dream, it’s time for the making, artists waken and the money for the taking.
