When Gods Are Calling
Nemesis was founded in the year 2006 by bassist, classical guitar player and composer Johannes Müller. The idea behind the whole project was to combine elements of progressive metal, power metal and classical baroque music into one unique style of metal. Especially the works of J. S. Bach, G. F. Händel and A. Vivaldi strongly influenced the compositions of the band as well as present and former progressive, neoclassical and power metal bands. This mixture makes the music technically challenging as well as catchy and melodic. In addition, the Songs are garnished with the powerful clean voice of Rubina Amaranth.
At the beginning, plenty of musicians were involved in the realization of this idea over the years, but what has started as a two man project, including Johannes Müller and ex vocalist Michael Bartsch, became more and more serious and finally transformed into the present line-up. The current line-up of Nemesis is Georg Krömer and Patrick Kapahnke on guitars, Jan Drumm on the drums, Rubina Amaranth on vocals and Johannes Müller on bass guitar.
Nemesis hit the stage for the first time in February 2012. Since that the band has played some more gigs in local clubs and small festivals. Now the band is ready to take the next step and grow some bigger.
The band released their first album ‘When Gods Are Calling’ in August 2012 on one’s own account, without a label in background. The Album includes an intro and seven songs whereof one is a ballad dedicated to a deceased friend of the band. The songwriting and composing of the second album, which will be probably released in summer 2014, is already in progress.
