Dolma incorporates a unique combination of meditative and ambient sounds, which include Sanskrit mantras, into a moody atmospheric and upbeat contemporary setting. Dolma’s music was inspired by the traditional sounds of Kirtan, a style of chanting hymns or mantras to the accompaniment of instruments, such as the harmonium, tablas, the two headed mridanga or pakawaj drum and cymbals, in India’s Bhakti devotional tradition. Dolma stands out with her unique style, which crosses original songwriting, with a decade of experience in music production and performance, blending jazz, blues, ambient piano, Latin, Eastern Indian, trip hop, trance and the many styles of world music into her sound. Dolma's mission has been to assemble a group of musicians that share a passion for improvisation and musical exploration, and to develop a united musical vision.
