This is my first CD of original material which builds upon my long term relationship with folk, blues and country music. The songs are an amalgam of everything that I have absorbed musically over the years. Broken Bottle Blues is a song about how true love can lift you above your circumstances. I'd Rather Be A Musician is a song about the choices that we make in life and how, sometimes, we don't always end up doing what we want in life. Claire's Lullaby is dedicated to my lovely daughter, Claire, who is a great joy in my life, and contains fragments of memories of her childhood. Trail of Tears is about the horrible wrong inflicted by the US government on the Cherokee Tribe. Deliver Me is a prayer for protection against the evils that plague us. Mr. Contradiction is about my frustration over US politics, politicians and government.
