I'm Johnny Driftwood, a musician who takes his craft seriously enough to write his own promotional content, for the dual purpose of "getting it right" and "having some fun with it." This collection of original songs has been a long time in the making: I wrote all of the words and music over a period of about 10 years, with the notable exceptions of "The Ballad of Jesse Chisholm," which was written by my friend Mark Alan Wood, and "Love of the King," which I co-wrote with my lovely wife Kyla. The songs that make up Too Far from the Shore represent what I consider to be my best work to date; most of the material has been performed live with various bands to enthusiastic audiences. I like to think I know what makes a good song, but in reality, an artist truly knows a song is good if listeners tell them that it is - this is the case with most of these songs.
