The Motor City gave out a roar when D-Love was born. At birth he was named Derrick Searcy, the month was June and the day of the 28th. At the age of 5 years old he relocated and blessed the "Sin City" by gracing the streets of Las Vegas Nevada from that day forward.

D-Love was raised by his Mother and Stepfather and is the oldest of three children. His mother, Aletha played a major role in his life. She introduced him to the sounds of R&B, Soul, The Blues and Hip-Hop at a very young age. His interest to become a rapper started at the age of 12 years old and his favorite artist were Run-DMC and L.L. Cool J. Later his music influences would chose the type of music he would listen to and eventually make.
