John Barrett is a songwriter, musician from the midwest. Rock, reggae and an underlying groove are trademarks of John's music. John's songs have been performed and recorded by some of the top midwest acts throughout the 80's, 90's and today.

John has turned his focus to his songs and performing his music. New songs are on paper and bits of tape and memory scattered about. From The Wind Lake Studio, John's third release Something's Gonna Break has just been released. A bit different from many CD's, John plays all of the songs during his live set. The crowd favorites change from night to night - from 'I don't know' or one of John's reggae world tunes 'Oh no", 'You're the one". I've climbed oceans is also a jam-crowd favorite within the set.

Also, an accomplished drummer, many will recognize John from his playing in the midwest bands In Black 'n White and Bob Mittnacht and The Crowning Glories. With CD projects near completion with both groups, John's songwriting and beats will help drive their songs to the top.
