Keep It Simple
Steve Z has his own style of Country music. He has written 7 of the songs on this CD. Julie Frost met Steve Z and wanted Steve to write a song from a "lost love" letter she had written. Steve read the letter and said yes, he could make this into a song. About 2 weeks later, the song "Lost In Memories" was written. In 2001, two years after co-writing this song, Steve lost his 18 year old son. This song was recorded in 2004 and Steve really puts himself into the song, heart and soul.
The intro to the Peanut Butter Cookie Blues song is really how it happened. this song was written in 15 minutes. The lead guitar is played by Jerry Lynn Smith, Steve's cousin.
Jerry Lee "Smoochy" Smith plays piano like nobody else in all tracks on the CD "Keep It Simple".
The song "You Were There" features Paul Burleson on guitar. The title track "Keep It Simple" features Gerald Brown on dobro.
