Michiko
Michiko is a Sydney-born, London-based singer, songwriter and producer whose style is described as a fusion of electronica, dance and downtempo with smooth and soulful vocals. Influenced by artists such as Sade, Astrud Gilberto, Miguel Migs and often compared to Samantha James and Blue Six. Born to German and Japanese parents, Michiko’s musical journey began at the age of 6 with piano lessons, followed by vocal training from the age of 16. She began recording her own compositions out of frustration at the lack of music she could identify with on the radio and being somewhat of a geek, she developed a love for electronic production techniques. Following her university graduation Michiko moved to Germany and trained in Sound Recording and Jazz singing before relocating to London.
