Angie was a student at Nyack college when a fellow student invited her to Jahrockn studios and asked her to sing a hook for him. She did, and the engineer Edy Magic took a liking to her sound (though he still had no idea she rapped). He called Chris Belmont, owner and founder of Jahrockn studios to come in and check her out. After a few minutes of conversation they were told Angie could rap and Chris decided to put her to the test. He threw on beats and Angie started free-styling about things in the studio and went on for about 4 beats. She went home and received a call from Chris Belmont later that night. He sent her over some beats and immediately they got to work.
