Andrei Korobeinikov

Andrei Korobeinikov was born in 1986 in the Moscow region of Russia. He started to play the piano at the age of 5 and at the age of 7 he won the First prize at the 3rd P.I. Tchaikovsky International piano competition for young musicians (Khimki and Klin, Russia). By the age of 20 he had won more than 20 prizes in different national and international competitions in Russia, USA, Italy, Portugal, UK, Netherlands including the First prize at the 3rd Alexander Scriabin International piano competition in Moscow (2004) and the Second prize with the Audience prize at the 2nd Sergei Rachmaninov International piano competition in Los Angeles (2005), Special prize of the Moscow Conservatoire and the diploma for best performance of music by Tchaikovsky at the 13th Tchaikovsky International music competition. Andrei Korobeinikov has performed concerts in more than 40 countries of the world and has cooperated with many outstanding musicians including conductors Iván Fischer, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Leonard Slatkin, Alexander Vedernikov, Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Okko Kamu, Jean-Claude Casadesus, Antoni Wit, Gintaras Rinkevicius, Kwamé Ryan, Alain Altinoglu, Maxim Shostakovich, Alexander Rudin, Mikhail Pletnev, Vakhtang Jordania, Edward Serov, Vladimir Ziva, Dmitri Liss, violinists Vadim Repin and Dmitri Makhtin, cellists Alexander Kniazev, Johannes Moser and Henri Demarquette. He has appeared with The Borodin Quartet, Yana Ivanilova (soprano) as well as with Philharmonia Orchestra (London), Orchestre National de France, NHK Symphony Orchestra (Tokyo), NDR Symphonieorchester, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia (Poland), State Academic Symphony orchestra “Evgeny Svetlanov, Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra (Moscow), The Russian National Orchestra, The National Philharmonic of Russia, The Moscow Symphony Orchestra and many other Russian and European orchestras. Korobeinikov’s performances have been broadcast by Arte, Mezzo, Kultura, France Musique, BBC 3, NDR-Kultur and other TV channels and radio stations in Russia, USA, France, UK, Switzerland, Uruguay and Croatia. The pianist’s CDs comprising works by Alexander Scriabin (Mirare, 2008) and Dmitri Shostakovich (Mirare, 2012) have been given the most prestigious awards of French musical critics, Diapason d'or, Diapason decouverte and Choc. At the age of 19 Andrei Korobeinikov graduated with honours from Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatoire where he studied with Andrei Diev, and afterwards he did a postgraduate course at the same Conservatoire with the same professor, and studied with Vanessa Latarche at the Royal College of Music (London), graduating also with honours both times.
