If you’ve been a part of the scene for a while now, you surely heard of Umek, Valentino Kanzyani and other inventors of "the Slovenian techno sound" at some point. Well, the Slovenian EDM scene is still bursting with talents but the new generations have taken the sound far beyond techno. \r \r Alex Cvetkov from the small coastal town of Koper, close to Trieste and Venice, is one of the youngest ambassadors of "the new Slovenian sound". Besides, he’s a Guinness world record holder as well. His dad Rok Cvetkov is, namely, a well known movie stuntman and Alex took after him quite early. By the time he was two and a half years old, he performed his first stunt and later made his name by jumping over 11 people on his motorbike at six. "But that’s the past. I still like bikes of all kinds and I do like sports but it’s music that occupies most of my life now," sets Alex the record straight, and his older sister is the one to blame. "As a teenager she got into parties and at some point took me along. But while she and everybody from our gang danced the whole night, I only looked at and listened to the DJ. I instantly knew I wanted to do this and left bikes for music in no time." After becoming solid behind a mixer, Alex got the support of Fetch the Vibe, an event promotion crew. The next obvious step was getting started in music production. With mentors such as Umek’s colleague and one of UK’s top 40 producers Tomy DeClerque and a sound master, Lukas Stepancic, he has been able to learn from the best. He's a resident DJ at Fetch the Vibe events held at the Ambasada Gavioli club. And believe it or not, his small studio is located in the backroom of legendary Ambasada Gavioli, a club which has defined the scene and influenced so many great artists in Central Europe, North Mediterranean and Western Balkans. "I really don’t want to pigeon-hole my sound as I believe in eclecticism, but the strongest pillar on which I base my sets is house, though I also feel very comfortable in the tech-house genre."\r \r So, Alex is on a mission, dedicated to become one of world’s leading DJ. And why not? He set the Guinness record at six and lived his dream as a true karate kid, which proves he’s a very dedicated young man prepared to work hard to reach his goals. Such dedication and discipline combined with the fresh sound of his DJ-sets and productions make for a remarkable talent ready to flourish.
