The Toronto-based, techno-oriented New Kanada imprint is set to add a new artist to its roster before the year's end with the three-track debut from a producer known only as DIVA. Combining "the trippy sensuality of Chris & Cosey with the brutalist analogue aesthetic of...Robert Hood or Liasons Dangereuses," DIVA's Paris Stabbing EP seems to split the difference between hardware-friendly techno and nostalgic house, with a unique spin on refracted vocal processing.
