美国Death Metal乐队,组建于2002年。 OMINOUS is a heavy three-piece New Jersey-based death metal band formed in the fall of 2002 by vocalist and guitarist Victor Gonzalez and drummer Jayson Meerholz. Influenced by iconic extreme bands such as Obituary, Cradle of Filth, Suffocation and Cryptopsy, OMINOUS was inspired to produce a four-song CD in just three months time without a bassist. The sampler included the songs "What Is There For Me,” "Intercorpse,” "Lifeless,” and "Emptiness” and circulated worldwide. Soon their fan base grew beyond the U.S. to include Canada, Poland, Russia, Germany, Peru, Brazil, Japan, and Thailand—even before they played their first show. In early 2003 the band finally recruited a bassist. With a completed line-up, they booked their first show on May16th at the Firehouse in Milford, New Jersey. This winning performance set the course for OMINOUS as one of the most brutal death metal bands in New Jersey. That summer, the band gained new fans with the release of a 10-song demo CD and continued to expand their base when they played the famous Milwaukee Metalfest at a monster 24,000-seat venue. OMINOUS has since shared the stage with such hallowed acts as Kataklysm, Suffocation, Deicide, Vital Remains, Dying Fetus, 25 Ta Life, Obituary, Winds of plague, Goatwhore to name a few. in 2005 Vic Gonzalez designed and released his first signature-series guitar under the Yavcon brand called "The Desecrator,” and in 2006 Vic signed a coveted endorsement deal with Vader Cabinets. OMINOUS was formally signed to Chicago-based label Rotting Corpse Records in 2006. Releasing their full length debut album "Intercorpse.” January 10th 2006. At about that time, drummer Jay Meerholz struck a deal with MRP, and designed and released his first signature series drum set "The Midnight Stalker.” OMINOUS also has four music videos under their belt. In 2004 Their first professional award winning music video for the track "13 Years Of Pain" was filmed with director Micheal Saladino of On the point Films who's worked with (40 Below Summer, The Used, Killswitch Engage and Criss Angel) In 2009 Director Joseph Pine of JNP Productions Filmed their music video for the track “Your Tragedy” which was shot on location at Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia. In 2010 JNP Productions filmed “Battered” at the TMT Festival in New York. In the Summer of 2013 Ominous signed a new deal with their new Record label "Born Of Chaos Records" which will release the bands latest album titled "You Created Tragedy" This album was Mastered and features special guest guitar work by world renown guitarist James Murphy. The albums release date is on August 30th 2014.With the new label on their side 2014 has been a very productive year. In the spring of 2014 JNP productions filmed the bands darkest music video "Forget" which deals with the affects of suicide. 2014 also saw new Bassist Tom Cooke to the Lineup. With this new lineup Ominous has it's sights set on bigger things.
