Gaia
In 2000, a new moniker of Armin van Buuren arose: Gaia. Inspired by Greek mythology, in which ‘gaia’ means ‘mother earth’, Armin named the first Gaia track ‘4 Elements’. Earth, water, sky and fire were represented in this legendary trance track, which grew out to a true classic and therefore an essential piece of music in trance’s history.\r \r It’s not until 9 years and a generation of trance lovers later, that the next Gaia track sees the light. ‘Tuvan’, released in the summer of 2009, is one of the biggest tracks of that year, rocking the Ibiza crowds where it is premiered during the recording of Armin’s ‘Universal Religion Chapter 4’, as well as the global dance society. Gaia is back, and here to stay. ‘Tuvan’ was also voted as ‘Tune of the Year 2009’ by the listeners of A State of Trance.
